Blufire vs Rockerbox: a marketing measurement platform, or margin-true analytics for Shopify?

Rockerbox is a unified marketing measurement platform, now owned by DoubleVerify, combining multi-touch attribution, marketing mix modelling and managed incrementality testing across digital and offline channels. Blufire reads every order, customer, channel and SKU in true contribution margin and ties it to your ledger. A fair comparison.

Rockerbox calls itself "The Platform of Record for All Marketing Measurement" and describes a unified measurement platform that combines MTA, incrementality testing and MMM on a SOC2-certified data foundation (rockerbox.com). It is strong where many tools are weak: podcast, influencer, direct mail and linear TV measurement, exports into Snowflake, Redshift and BigQuery, and a fully managed testing service (rockerbox.com). DoubleVerify acquired Rockerbox on 13 March 2025 for a purchase price of US$82.3 million net of cash acquired (sec.gov). Blufire and Rockerbox agree on one thing: no single attribution model is the truth. Both compare models and both run incrementality tests. Where they differ is the unit being measured. Rockerbox's plans page talks in ROAS, CPA and revenue (rockerbox.com), and we did not find a COGS or contribution-margin feature on its site. Blufire measures in CM1, revenue minus COGS, shipping, payment fees and returns, reconciled to your ledger, and carries that number beyond marketing into discounting, customer value, inventory and forecasting. A brand spending across TV, podcasts and direct mail, with a data team that wants measurement piped into its own warehouse, is Rockerbox's natural customer. A Shopify brand whose channels are mostly Google, Meta and Klaviyo and whose question is margin is Blufire's. Rockerbox facts below were checked on its own site, its Shopify listing, review sites and DoubleVerify's annual report on 30 September 2026.

Who each is for

Blufire

Blufire is margin-true analytics for Shopify brands. Every view is built on CM1 (revenue minus COGS, shipping, payment fees and returns) and reconciled to your ledger, to the dollar. Attribution models are compared side by side, marketing mix modelling runs on your own data, and geo-lift tests and holdouts return a verdict in CM1. The same maths runs through discounting, customer value, creative, inventory and forecasting. Price is set by trailing twelve-month revenue, from A$219 a month, with every feature on every band and a 30-day free trial.

Rockerbox

Rockerbox is a marketing measurement platform for "digital-first brands with complex marketing measurement needs", with a Starter plan built for Shopify brands spending less than US$1M (rockerbox.com). It combines customisable multi-touch attribution, MMM with budget scenarios, managed incrementality testing, offline channel measurement and warehouse exports, and reports 100+ integrations and US$9.89B+ in tracked marketing spend (vendor-reported, https://www.rockerbox.com/). Named customers include Away, Staples, Lowe's, Burton and FIGS (rockerbox.com). It is owned by DoubleVerify (sec.gov). Pricing runs from a free plan and Starter from US$150 a month to quote-only products (rockerbox.com).

Honest read

Where Blufire is stronger

  • Measures margin, not revenue: every channel is read in CM1 after COGS, shipping, payment fees and returns, so a channel with a healthy ROAS on low-margin products shows its true contribution.
  • Every number reconciles to your accounting ledger, to the dollar, so marketing and finance work from the same figures.
  • Experiments you run yourself: geo-lift tests, email holdouts and ad holdouts set up inside the product, each with a verdict and confidence interval in CM1.
  • Beyond marketing: a margin verdict on every discount code, customer value in margin terms, SKU-level inventory, and cash-flow forecasting on the same maths.
  • Margin-ranked audiences pushed to Klaviyo, Google or Meta, with the round trip read back against a holdout.
  • Fast to start: install from the Shopify App Store and connect Shopify, Klaviyo, Google and Meta in one click, with a 30-day free trial and every feature on every band.

Where Rockerbox is stronger

  • All three measurement methods in one platform: customisable MTA, MMM with budget scenarios, and incrementality testing (rockerbox.com).
  • Offline and hard-to-track channels: podcast, influencer, direct mail and linear TV (rockerbox.com), which Blufire does not measure.
  • Built for data teams: structured exports to Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery and BI tools (rockerbox.com), on a SOC2-certified data foundation (rockerbox.com).
  • A fully managed incrementality service that handles test design, implementation, analysis and interpretation (rockerbox.com).
  • An accessible entry point: a free plan for brands spending under US$5M a year and Starter from US$150 a month for Shopify brands spending under US$1M (rockerbox.com).
  • Enterprise backing and references: owned by DoubleVerify (sec.gov), with customers such as Staples, Lowe's and Away (rockerbox.com).
